After a long time...

Hey, it's been a while!

A lot's been up in the past -- oh wow, it's almost been a year now, hasn't it?
Well, the new news is that I'm now well settled in my new apartment. I even have a few cute cat pictures to prove it, but I think I'll save that for now.

(Okay, maybe one.)

I've even had a haircut, and a few really cute outfits!

 (Now in horrible selfie quality.)

However, now that class is over for the semester, I'm ready to bring in summer and hopefully start posting again. After all, it's coming near the first anniversary of opening this blog, and I don't want all my cute fashion progress to go the way of the dodo, you know?

So in the mean time while I put together some cute new outfits and boost up my fashion cred, here's some great things I've been looking at on Amazon lately. I've been kind of broke lately, but I should be able to get a solid job this summer - and when I do, I'll get myself some nice summer clothes. Especially dresses. Never enough dresses.

Here's one in particular I've been looking at:

Found at Amazon for $33.99

It's a little brighter than my usual fair, but this adorable floral dress is just too good to pass up! The material looks nice too, and it's very summery in design too... I bet it's really cute and floaty ♥

Another adorable one is here.

Nothing says summer like pineapples, right? :p This looks good enough to eat. Cute and quirky!

And to finish off this post, here's a cheaper and simpler option for some of you :)

From the customer pictures it looks like it's a nice dress for the price too! Something to consider for cheapstakes like me, though it doesn't have any fruit on it... :(

Anyway, that's all for today! See you later guys!

A month later... (OOTD)

Apologies everyone for the long wait, but I'm back!
These past few weeks have been beyond busy. I had, all in a row: interpersonal junk, finals, move out, and then a short vacation to my Grandpa's that I just returned from today. This week, I'll be doing paperwork for and hopefully moving into my new apartment, and then on Monday, Fall classes start, so I'll be a full time student again!

However, I have gotten the chance to get some cute clothes, including this adorable outfit!

I'm not going to lie: I totally didn't wear this today while flying. But I did wear it for these pictures, so it counts.

(Indoor lighting is hard, but believe me when I say this outfit is very pink.)

Top: Papaya
Skirt: Taobao
Socks: Taobao
Shoes: DbDk (Papaya)
Accessories: Sanrio & Offbrand

(Detail shot so you can see the necklaces & some of the shirt accent)

Compared to my first post, this is more of my usual style: pretty cutesy and colorful. Sometimes a bit childish. I'm very inspired by Japanese street fashion, especially fairy-kei and gyaru-kei. Someday maybe I'll get a properly OTT & colorful outfit together to be "true" fairy-kei :p

I've been looking for some way to wear this suspender skirt for a while - the shirt I got in the same taobao order to wear with it looked all wrong! After some searching, I found this top at Papaya's while on vacation, and also snagged these adorable shoes there... and also, there was a toy store in the airport with a Sanrio sale...

(Pictured above: proof I am a responsible adult who spends their money on responsible, practical things.)

Overall though, I'm excited and ready to keep this up to date! I hope you guys are also having a good August, and manage to beat the back-to-school blues! :)

Giveaway Prizes - Maid dress and cherub tights!

Hi everyone! A while ago, I won a giveaway run by kirisamez on tumblr. The pacakge arrived on Friday, but it was at my parent's house, so I didn't get it until today.

(The address label was adorable!!)

It was packed very small! I was surprised and wondered if it was a different package (and I'm not even expecting any others like this, haha)

Inside were the prizes! A maid dress from Bodyline and some cherub tights. They're both so cute!!

The pink of the dress looks darker in person, but it's still gorgeous and I love wearing it. I feel like a cute maid. There's no one here to serve tea though, unfortunately.

(Normally, I'd take good pictures with my camera, but I have a test coming up, so I took some with my webcam. Sorry guys.)

(Excuse my messy room.)

The cherub tights fit as well, and feel really nice... but I don't have anything to wear them with yet, so no pictures yet! Once I get an outfit together they'll show up, I promise you. (:

In conclusion, I'm really grateful to kirisamez for running this giveaway and lucky to have won! Thank you!! If any of my (limited number of) readers have a tumblr, they're a great person to follow.

Have a good day everyone!

Introductions and a cat-themed OOTD!

(ok, not gonna lie, I just really wanted to use that pixel... ;p)

Hello everyone! I go by Sylvie, and this is my first time seriously running a blog that isn't just a silly Tumblr. Lately I've been really into fashion, so it came to mind that I should make a serious blog here to show off my outfits and also to review any cool things I may buy. This place is the result of that - I hope my graphic design skills are good enough for you guys! c:

A little bit about me before I start ranting about today's outfit: I'm 19 years old and currently attending university, hoping to get a major in English Education. If I change my mind (and major!) it'll likely be to psychology or sociology, two topics I also really enjoy. My other interests include pop culture, street fashion (especially Asian street fashion), writing, art, toys, anime/manga, bad video games, and of course, CATS!

Speaking of awkward lead-ins to actual content, my outfit is feline-themed today!

(I'm still getting used to taking pictures of myself with my camera, not to mention editing them, so excuse any mistakes and feel free to comment with suggestions!)

My outfit today is actually completely made of thrift finds - I got the dress from a Goodwill for $3 in November, and the purse and necklace were gifts from a friend that she found at a garage sale.

(Close up of the purse; there was a padded heart on his collar, but it fell off, so I put a sticker for now. This is the purse I usually carry around nowadays, so it sees some wear for sure.)

Usually, I'm not near so conservative with colors; I love wearing lavenders, pinks, aquas and other light but certainly eye-popping colors. This is a very neutral compared to my usual style... but it's also got cats, so it's still very "me."

(Close-up of necklace; it's super cute! The back is obviously a recycled domino, so this is most likely a hand-made piece.)

While I was messing with the outfit this morning though, it seemed to be missing something. Something more than good shoes (which I am woefully deficient in at the moment.) After some thought, I realized what would have really made this outfit perfect...

(Found here for $7.80 with free shipping from China included)

That may or may not be on my to-buy list next time I decide to treat myself. I mean, it's a cat sun hat. Who could resist?

Anyway, thank you for reading! Follow/comment/etc and keep an eye out for more cute clothes and fashion! See ya!!
